Hey all, well its time i need help lol. When i shift from 1st to 2nd i hit nuetral alot. Is this a transmission default or the clutch needs to be tuned in? Its a 01 moddle and it dont happen when im riding casual.. but when im in a real serious race it happens almost everytime. what do you guys and gals think? It might be my shoes but thats not likly. I already dont liek the linkage from the shifter to tranny so im getting IMS shifter. think the IMS will solve my problems?

It could just be your 01 tranny going bad. alot of 01 raptor riders have had to upgrade to 02 trannies. visit raptortranny.com for details.

 

Oh man dont tell me this, but i actually think the 01 gears were replaced by the dealer because i just got it in august through a dealer used. The tranny is actually quiet stong when i think of it. Why are 3 dogs weaker then 4?

It happens to me and I have an 03. Its not your tranny. I think its just because you are trying to shift faster so you arent kicking the lever up hard enough.

 

good, i was thinking because i do it on my dads 03 LE.... i liek to drag so i bet your right. any way to avoid this in my shifting style?

 

my blaster does that too. I try not to use first when drag racing. I figure a bad start in second is better than a good start in first followed by me hitting neutral and making my blaster scream.

 

that's exactly what it is............I do it on mine someitmes...........(when I use first)
and I did it on my buddies YFZ the other day........

 

i cant start in 2nd gear for some reason.... it dies..
