Its never ending..........for some reason every inexperienced person thinks that if one machine(no matter what it is) has a "faster top speed" its a better machine. I can make a Kx80 go 100mph, so I guess that means that it MUST be faster than a Kx500....... Gearing achieves top speed, horsepower is what makes things exciting. How many of us REALLY gets to wide open in 5-6th gear? But for the answer the Yz is the better bike.

Sorry bud. It just gets old hearing the same kind of questions on here about "top speed" all the time. With a valid answer to your question, The Yz has a much more powerful motor than the Cr and has for the past 7yrs. Honda used to be the power house of the 125 class, and if you put a 96' Cr125 on the line with the current crop of bikes in an all out hp. race I think it could hang with the top in the class. For some reason the honda's have really fallin' behind and have yet to catch back. Aside from the Ktm the Yz has the most hp out of the two strokes.........Now if you want to the throw the four strokes in there, The Yz250f puts the whoopin' on all of them.
