I have to agree with you on the 460. My dad had one in his f350, 3 inch stainless stacks right behind the cab, big carb, big cam, headers. That thing sounded ssssweet.

Two strokes all the way!!!!!!!!!
But I do have to say that four strokes sound good when your on them. I never like the way they sound, but they sound different when your on them. They sound mean when your on them, kind of like a little hot rod motor. I dont like what they sound like when your standing around listening to them. Two strokes sound better. Tang da tang tang is like music to my ears.

I know I posted that nothing was as sweet to me as my H-D... but my pals 96 inch, 15.5 to 1 compression, nitro burning, (nitro-top fuel not nitrous oxide) cams so large the case had to be milled for clearance, 2" straight piped H-D Sportster dirt drag bike has to be one of the wickedest sounding machines I have ever heard bar none. The compresion is so wild that it takes a remote Cat dozer 24v starter to turn it over. It has ran in the 3s at over 100 mph in a 300 ft dirt drag. Not to shabby for a 45 year old engine design. This machine is wild, it has a 3/4 inch diameter fuel line, one gear trans with a slipper clutch. no oiling to the top end of the valves... it has grease fitings to lube the rockers and removable plugs to oil the valves between runs. The sound is like nothing I have ever heard...at idle you can physically feel the sound in your chest. Kinda like a bass note on one of those high power stereos.

Thats a tough one!
I love the sound of a built Banshee during a drag - they sound like an indy car!
But, I also like a custom 4 cylinder 750 motor in a quad!
I cant decide!

i was bored the other day, so i took the baffle and the whole back end off my stock silencer the other day so that there was a hole as big as a baseball for my exhaust to come out of. man i slapped that thing back on my blaster and she sounded nasty. almost like you could hear down inside the motor if you had your head behind it. it didn't get to much louder, there was just so much more definition in sound of the individual ingitions. man that thing turned me on, she was nasty. lol, when i rode it it looked like a big rig exhaust with all the blue smoke bellowing out of a hole bigger than my fist.

Ever smelled raw nitro? It doesn't smell sweet like High Octane race gas, but it smells like nothing you have ever smelled before. Once you smell nitro, not nitrous, you will never forget it. It doesn't smell that different after its burned, but raw in a jug it's strange.
