Default Raptor Vs. DS650

From what I have seen.....Rappy by what seems like 1-2 mph.

In the couple races I have witnessed, the Rappy seems to have just enough to stay ahead of a DS.

and that is my 2 cents

Are you taking into considerstion the DS650 parts cost about twice that of the Raptor?.... So I think dollar for dollar wouldn't the Raptor would be king. Put it this way, try to find a piston for the DS650 for under $300, and take a look how much a Raptor piston is... $150? lol
That is no lie...I paid $400 for a 16:1 piston for my DS.

this questions has been tackled many many times...but never with this amount of honesty. Kudos to all.

Pushin is right. Take 2 stock quads and spend 600 dollars on each and the raptor is ahead. For every dollar you spend on a rappy it takes 2 or more on the DS

But the fastest DS's and raptors have spent more than 5ooo dollars to get there on motor work.

14 MIN ILL disagre with that statement .. one of my ds.s only have a procirciut pipe $189 and a k&N filter and its has yet to lose to a piped and jetted raptor .. ohh and a pair of tires add another 100$

and i ride with a lot of piped and jetted raptors . don,t get me wrong there close races but the ds always pulls ahaed .,.

Stock for stock, DS just barely edges out a Raptor. Seems we all agree on that.

However, I have to disagree with 14mins on the $600 scenario. If you know the right things to do to a DS, the first mods are very cheap and effective. Just porting the intake has been measured at a 4hp gain. Modified endcaps work about as well as a pipe and cost less than $100. 87 octane gets power and saves money. Spend the rest of your first $600 on a carb and I'd put that DS against any Raptor with only $600 into it.

After that, it's up to who has the deepest pockets.

Scooby's turbo rocks, BTW.

P.S. I will put my $600 DS motor against ANY $600 dollar Rappy motor in the USA!!

i think the DS is faster when you go on flats and when u go up hill the raptor starts to catch up.
