Now i am new here and i just got a Raptor. I don't know if this has been answered or not........ i was wanting to know which one is faster in top speed and if any1 has had any experience races with these 2 quads?

From races Ive seen I can tell you that the Ds is faster. The Rotax is one badass engine and isnt one to be messed with, ever see scoobys turbo ds?

Do a search, you'll get all the info you need. Top speed the DS by a tad, equal riders and all.

 

I have a 01 raptor and my buddy has a new 03 DS.
We were going down a long pave road and we both had it pinned. We were about equal no joke! But I figure if we would have had more road he would have pulled a head slowly. Also im running blackwater tires so that might have a effect.

1bigdsrider- there is no "little" in a DS catagory.

The answer to the post- stock the raptor has the edge to 65mph and then the stock DS will catch up and be so close you forgot was the question was. lol

piped vs piped the raptor rules after that the guy that has the biggest pocket book wins. I all reality they are close stock to stock and piped vs piped that the rider weight could be the deciding factor. Always feed a DS rider before a race. That way they will be full and sleepy and not as alert.

 

Are you taking into considerstion the DS650 parts cost about twice that of the Raptor?.... So I think dollar for dollar wouldn't the Raptor would be king. Put it this way, try to find a piston for the DS650 for under $300, and take a look how much a Raptor piston is... $150? lol
