How much timing was being run with this piston? Here is a video of one that went together in the spring and has been pounded since (12.6:1)

at what elevation were you running pump gas in 12.6:1?

Unfortunately an unbiased opinion will not be in the answer no-matter who the piston representative is IMO. Hopefully he will use the true info if the piston is in fact a defect. There is a lot of carnage that goes along with admitting failure on the manufacturers part. JE makes a lot of the pistons for top fuel dragsters making in excess of 500+ hp per hole.

By the way, those dragsters use a flat top piston and get their power the best way....through the head. A "pop up", high compression piston promotes detonation....or anything that alters flame travel for that matter.
