i picked fmf fatty pipes and should get them by the end of the week. so,,, my question is how hard is the jetting to get it right???? i live and ride around the 500- 1000' level. i also bought the two separate k&n filters with outerwears, so i imagine that will make a difference with the airflow. all of your experience and suggestions are appreciated thanks..........Erik

THE PIPES SHOULD COME WITH SOME RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VARIOUS RIDING CONDITIONS AND ELEVATIONS. GOOD CHOICE!

My FMF's came with 260's for the mains, which at almost 6000 feet altitude was too much, but with 240's it runs good. At your altitude, with no airbox, I suspect you may need higher than the 260's. Just try them and check the plugs. If you dont know how to check the plugs, do this. Get everything buttoned upo run it until its warm, then just haul butt wide open throttle through 5th gear, pull in the clutch, and kill the motor, Coast to a stop and check the plugs. If they are the color of cardboard, your lookin pretty good.

Good Choice on the pipes, you wont be dissappointed!
Good Luck,

RoostKing...

I have pretty much the same setup as you. I ride around sea level and up as high as 1000 feet with out changing jetting. I have 30 pilot jets new needles and 300 mains. I don't have clamp on filters but I don't run an airbox lid with my K&N pro design adapter.

Do not use the 260 mains as supplied with your pipes. These will only be effective with your air box still intact. I would start with a 280-290 main and a 32.5 pilot and go from there. I am assuming your banshee has stock size ports.
