11:1 you can use premium and some octane boost, 12:1 you need race gas, so there will be a difference, i would estimate prolly a few ponies power wise. 3 maybee 4, but i am just guessing on the ponie number.

You may pick up a horse going from 11/1 too 12/1. But thats a horse across the power curve..... Not worth the trouble of running down race gas around here.

That seems like a nice increase to me. Is that up Olds or in a certain distance?

Surely there is some % of hp gained per point of compression increased ratio, who knows it?

I just rode a 11:1 tonight at the Craycraft stables. It was certainly fast but didn't have the same arm-stretching torque as my 12:1 with pretty much the same mods. I'm geared a lot higher, 12/40 with 18" rear tires, than Bob's machine and I'm sure that had something to do with the different feel but I think the higher compression gives a bit more ooomph.

Good ? I need to know for my Z400. I know that you have more low end power with higher compression. But how much?

You don't need race gas @ 12:1.
