Drag struts for Rappy?

Default Drag struts for Rappy?

i was wondering if anyone uses them.....and if so, where did you get them? they dont look very hard to make but i was wondering if anyone else has made there own!

i aint sure what others use but i was gonna cut some 1 inch square tube and drill holes thru it for the ice...

I think 1.25" tubing is what the raptor needs..........I have thought about doin that.......

i figure i would try them before i spend 500.00 or whatever for Shaws! if they work then i will save a little coin that can go elsewhere!

Default Drag struts for Rappy?

I made adjustable drag struts that work great.
I went to a shop that builds sprint cars & got a threaded aluminum strut (like a tie rod) & put hime joints on it so I can adjust the highth.
Look on my pics page to see pics of my strut.
IMO it looks better than just a piece of tubing.

I'd seen the ones made from round & square tubing & didn't like the way they looked & if you used too thin of tubing the holes could get pounded out.

With mine you have a couple of inches of adjustability for diffrent track conditions & the aluminum struts polish out nicely.
They also work great, I get killer launches & the front end doesn't come up so hard that it bounces the rear tires off the ground when the wheelie bar hits the ground.

I make ours, i use chromoly tube in the front for weight savings and a solid 1'' aluminum strut for the rear.
