Theres better ways to keep your engine cooler. Removing the thermostat may keep the temps down in the beginning of a ride but after time you will actually run hotter.

Keep the thermostat and run engine ice, get one of those inline coolers from CFM on ebay or Wire your radiator fan to run constantly with a switch. Just some ideas but if your overheating you probably have other problems.

Yeah you will run hotter if you remove the thermostat. The thermostat allows the water to stay in the radiator and cool from the air flowing through it. then when the engine reaches a certain temp it opens and lets the cooler water in to the engine and the hot water from the engine to enter the radiator to cool. Without the thermostat the water will never have a chance to cool.

I agree if you don't let the coolant stay in your engine long enough the heat exchange can't take place.

I also stay in very hot climates. I have been riding in temperatures of 35 Deg C and higher. The raptor runs fine. The fan does not even come on all the time. So don't remove the thermostat

I live in Vegas and have ridden my bike in 120 F weather without any problems. If my fan ever does come on, it is only for a few seconds then off again. I agree, if you are running hot constantly you may have another problem.
