I was looking at putting some mx style handguards on the yfz..the type that mount onto the controls such as the cycra mx guards. Are the YFZ controls by chane the same as the YZ dirt bike also??

The only control (other than what's on the perches) on a YZ ought to be a kill button. I believe the hotstart is located on the perch.

Yes selector is correct. On the Yzf(dirtbike) the hotstart is on the clutch. I believe they use the same brake master cylinder, but I am pretty certain that the clutch side is different.

Well Im just wondering except for the hot start, are basically the bolts and pivots the same on the clutches? I think the hanguards bolt up using existing bolts in the units, they just have longer bolts that come with the kit. I saw Kory Ellis had these handguards on his quad and was just curious...they are pretty cheap protection!

anyone else? Specifically I want to put on the cycra handguards similar to what Kory Ellis is running, but when I look them up in Rocky mt. they list them by bike model.

I'd like to know if they fit also.. those handgards are great protection from flying rocks and the cold.

MNRAP, you'll be happy to hear I did the old "fade back and swish" as the dynojet hit the trash can. Actually, I sent it back, and I ordered a needle, 45, 48 pilot, and 165, 168, 170 main. Maybe I can get 'er running strong again...by the way, thanks agian sixsixT for your patience and info! Yeah, I think those handguards are the ticket. I've also liked and ran the powermadd star handguards, but don't like powermadds' universal adaptor. I would definately try the rox or acerebis universal mount with those flags. But the Cycra mx shileds look pretty strong, and I think even balance runs them on his 250R...they look pretty cool for what I want to do...and a cheaper handguard!
