tubeless... they make a special tire just to be studded... but i am going to use my summer tires that still have some tread and use them.. as long as you have screws on the ice you will move.. pattern doesnt really matter.. IMO.

Most ATV shops can get them for you and usually if you have enough tread left 1/2" are fine. Stock banshee tires hold screws well, i'm not sure about a warrior. It is suggested to pump the tires up hard (25-35 psi) install the screws, then let the air back out to help set them. As for aftermarket tires, hard nobby Chen Shins are the best, Hole shots will not hold ice screws no mater what you do. Also don't ride in dirt or other terrain as it dulls the screws. Keep them on the ice only so that stay sharp, that will get you the best traction.

y wont hole shots work?? grrrr i have some shot ones that i was planning on screwing sceiling duct screws into and using them, lots cheaper. Wat about putting them in and then using that green goo to seat them even better good or bad idea?

Yes, hozed is right, they are too soft. I've been there done that as well as a couple friends. Also, I would only use the actual ATV ice screws. They are much sharper that just sheet metal screws, the traction difference is huge. They are well worth the money, just keep them on the ice only! IMO other screws are a waste.

you can get the screws for like 55$ for 1000... kinda expensive.. but i am hoping my tires and screws will still be good for next winter too.. then the cost wont be so bad..
