$400 is high for a cdi I think.

The 400ex cdi is around $99.

The Z400 cdi is around $199.

There is a lot of things you can buy for $400. But it would help. Atleast I think it would. Another 1000rpms would definetly get your HP up. I know the cdi's help the ex's.

Very few Raptors are gonna need too be turning over where the stock limiter cuts in...which is 9k.

I hit my limiter in second pretty quick and in third if I'm tring to drag race. Say you get 500 rpms more before you have to shift with stock gearing that is about 3 mph in 2nd and 4 in 3rd. I'm not sure how big of difference that is without tring it out, but it seems like it would help to get alittle more push into the next gear. I need a list of things I can get for $400. I need some 35FCRs if anyone wants to sell them for $400.

At what RPM is your Raptor making peak power? Unless your Raptor is making peak power at or around 9k, then you are needlessly overrevving your Raptor and actually loosing lengths when dragging. Hope this helps.

To me it seems like it is still gaining strong then it will hit the limiter if I don't shift in time. Now when it hits that limiter I loose alot, but if I hit it right I feel no loss of power. I don't have a rpm gauge on my quad I just go by feel.

Same as me. Try shifting on 7.5k and I guarantee you will pick up lengths. I can feel mine fall off the cam. A shift light would be cool. Do you have a Ron Woods tach?

I don't have a tach. A light would be nice as I'm not looking at my dash to much, when holding on for my life through the whoops.

I don't feel mine stop pulling until I hit the limiter, it's a Stage 2 cam. If you look at some of the dyno charts in other posts, they show a HUGE change in upper RPM power with just exhaust, filter, and jetting. Since it's an OHC engine, it should be capable of spinning much faster as long as the bottom end is done right. My next upgrade will include a new CDI with programmable rev limit, I plan to build a big bore screamer:-)
