Default Which kit would be the best......

Which one of these kits would be the best in your guys opinion......

http://www.jmcracing.com.au/site/det...oductIDNum=146

That is a Wiseco 11:1 Piston and a Stage 1 Hot Cam.....w/ a in line cooler. No gaskets(they don't mention it). You get to keep your stock cam.

http://alba.buyol.com/Item/RAPTOPISTONKIT.htm

This kit is the Alba Kit. I believe the piston is 10:1. But you have to send in your old cam which will actually make this kit $60 cheaper and the gaskets are included.

I'm definetly goin to get the port and polish done as well. I'm just not sure who's goin to do it yet. About everyone charges the same $350 to port and polish a Raptor head. So I was counting on either Craycraft or Alba to do the port work. So with that, and the mod's below, which kit would give me the most HP???? I'm sure most of you guys know I've been looking for these kits for awhile to put in my Raptor over winter, so any input or information will be appreciated.

Default Which kit would be the best......

here is my advice
call Bob Cobb at Magnolia tractor with your best price and he will usually beat or meet that prices........
1-877-243-deere
that is where I got all of my parts from...........he has very good prices and he is happy to give you advice..........tell him that Josh Wulf in Center Texas sent you..........

but for the head work I would talk to Bob Craycraft..........or sparks.........Probably Craycraft because you don't wanna wait on sparks.........

next........I would just go ahead and skip the stage one cam.........I had that identical set up that you are looking at.........and I gained A LOT when I went to the stage 2 cam......
just a little advice......

also
that JMC is in Australia........and they told me that they dont' ship to the US

I have never bought anything from alba.........but I have gotten some bad advice from them.........I don't trust them........

if you do like I did and trust the 2 Bobs then I don't think you will be disappointed.........

just to let you know...........I paid $115 for my stock bore piston and $245 for my stage 2 cam and springs (combined)
and I think Bob (magnolia) charges 30 for a gasket set.........
I think he will BY FAR be the best deal.........

PM me if you have any questions.............

Check your PM.

And that's a good point....I never saw a order form on that JMC site. But I thought that was a decent deal.

Anyone else with suggestions????

Also another question...which would give the most power.....11:1 or 10:1???

I'd call Bob Craycraft before I ordered a piston ;-)

Call Bob Craycraft for all your needs, why buy stuff from 10 different suppliers who beat everyones price. So know you have the cheapest parts, but that doesn't mean that there the best at the best prices.

Stop and think why they are the cheapest deals, old out dated inventory.

I was hoping you or 14mins would respond.

I just been looking around for a couple differnt piston/cam kits. I will have to send Bob a email and see what he reccomends, and then I'll be ordering after christmas. If I do get the piston and cam off Bob, then I'm sure I'll have him go ahead and do the port and polish for me as well.

I definetly don't want to bore just yet, so that's why I'm looking at stock bore piston's with a higher compression. Sometime down the road I will bore the rappy, but not yet.

Compresion=cheap horsepower
it also means better gas to keep that rod alive...do you ride sand only? If so I'd think seriously about a HD rod

I ride trails....climb very steep and challenging hills....and drag race occasionally. But I love to be very fast and have a ton of power.....
