Bad idea......

I wouldn't recommend it. You'll have to sand the plastic, mix in a plastisizer to the paint as well as an adhesive promoter(spray paint alone won't work),and the first time you bend it good it going to crack and look like crap. Just wait to get the money for different plastic. You can get real good deals on e-bay if you look hard.

Well there is a new paint out there called Fusion and bonds to plastic, I have painted my grille on my Raptor and headlight shrouds and they have held up great!!! you can bend it and it bonds to the plastic great. I have never had good look painting plastic until now. Great stuff who ever invented that paint.

I used the krylon paint on my raptor and it works out great. cost $12 instead of 300 for new plastic. Make sure to clean it very good before painting. And once it's cured gas, carb cleaner, and other stuff like that will ruin it. Carb cleaner will take it right off.

If you are gonna paint your plasctics here is what you should do(I'm a custom hot rod painter, so I know what I'm talking about)

a) Get a wax and adhesive remover and go over all areas your going to paint. Be sure to not put it on too heavy.

B) Get a small sheet of 2000 grit sand paper and go over all areas that are going to be painted.

C) Get Bulldog adhesive promoter and cover all areas in thin coats.

D) Get a enamel primer and prime the areas

E) Sand primer with 2400 grit sand paper and lightly coat everything again with the bulldog

F) Paint with either S.E.M plasctic and vinyl paint, or the fusion if yiou need to be cheap.

be sure to wipe the plasctic down with a rag(Cotton) and let dry completely after you sand and use teh wax remover.

Also if you are gonna use S.E.M. a nice enamel clear coat would be nice too. But you would have to use a gun for that.

S.E.M is about $16 for a high gloss enamel. Thats why he should do it with a gun. He could get primer, bulldog, a pint of gloss black, and a half pint of clear for about $40. He'd probobally end up spending about $60 or $70 using the S.E.M. and maybe $50 with the Krylon. Rattlecans doen't go very far when you want to get a good coat. But they do work.
