a V design in most instances can produce higher HP with lower torque but not always crank timing degree of cyl's stroke is very critical crank weight theres alot of variable if you have a short stroke v with a very light crank assembly and can feed it tons of fuel and air spin it fast and the HP goes up . Opposing down force on crank shaft. Inline with a Long stroke big strong crank assembly ( Big = Heavy ) Lower rpms lower Hp HIGH TORQUE down force is pushing the same degree of crank rotation
