Default Raptor tranny melt down

My son's 01 Raptor siezed last month so were upgrading to the 02 tranny. The parts are on order and we got some great help from the folks at Alba because they have a detailed write up at raptortranny.com including a parts list. The bits from the destroyed gear got into the plastic gears on the oil drive and chipped several teeth. The small gear has a part # but the large drive gear is on the back of the clutch basket with no seperate part #. The dealer wants $230 for the clutch basket. Anyone have a junk basket with a good gear or an OE part that was upgraded with aftermarket?

That gear is part of the clutch.

PS. Mike, who owns Raptortranny.com put up that list and made that great website for us poor 01 Raptor owners. Alba is a sponsor, only.

Alba has a decent pipe, and good looking girls that work there. That's all the credit they deserve.

Try

East coast ATV

They dont list the bsket on their site but give them call.

Magnolia Tractor

Alot of people have posted the price they got parts from these folks and they seem to be very in expensive. Wouldnt be surprised to see your basket for under $200 here.

Raptordad,
What was he doing when it went out. Were there any signs it was going like noise or did it just take a dump. Has the Raptor been ridden a lot and what type of riding.
Good luck with the new set-up.

We bought it 2 yrs ago and he tends to beat the snot out of it but it's been a good ride. He was riding up a hill and just as it leveled off while he was slowing down, it siezed. He got lucky, hate to think it could of happened while he was taking a jump.
