Default Kodiak Information

Considering a used Kodiak. Any good or bad years? Would like one with a selectable 2/4 wheel drive. Do you know what year they started with that option? Also, like high and low gear as well. Do the Kodiaks have lockers in the front?
Feedback from owners welcome. Also considering a used 450 Foreman as well.

Default Kodiak Information

Hello ProComp,
I have the '00 version of the Kodiak. That is the first year they had the 2X4/4X4 option and the belt drive. I have to say I have ridden my quad pretty hard in the summer/fall and plow all winter with it. I love it. I had my first real problem with it this year , burnt up a couple of CDI boxes. It had a shorted connector going to the coil. I also put in the reverse limiter override. Other than that, it has been a great quad. The '03/'04 Kodiak 450s have the front diff lock. I do wish I had that option available. I am probably going to try a Grizzley front end and wire it up. Wish me luck on that one.
