I have a 04 raptor and i want to improve my corning and for it to be not so top heavy. What is one thing that i can do to help this out. I know there is alot of stuff out there to do this but i can only afford buying the stuff one at a time. What is the first thing to get to improve corning , then the next couple of things. Thanks for the reply. P.S i do all kinds of riding.

New tires will help also, the stockers roll a lot in the turns. After tires and a rear axle, start saving for a-arms and shocks. Wheel spacers will give you a wider stance but they are not as durable as a new axle and a-arms, good bang for the buck until you save enough for real upgrades.

Razr's or Holeshots are the way to go for general sport quad tires... Keep them the same height unless you have a preference on what you wanna set your quad up for, like MX or XC.... If you ride alot of mud, you may want a taller mud tire in the 22" size like a Mud Machine, Realtor, or Spider Trac, anything of that sort... If you wanna really save the bux, just go to a Titan Turf Tamer 20" or Fast Trekker 20" for more value for your money and good overall sport performance, but top of the line would be the first tires mentioned... Getting the XC or XCR setup just steps it up a notch more in the Holeshot as does going to the Razr 2's....

Increasing your preload on the front shocks reduces most of the body roll and makes a better cornerer out of the Raptor...I recommend starting at 2 steps up from your current position. I have my stock front shocks set too full hard on the pre-load for "no rollover" on the turns. Body position is critical on the Raptor as well.....but this is too easy since the seat-tank junction rivals a bike..[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]. Feel free too hang off the side....the Raptor will reward you. Hope this helps.

The first things i did when i bought my Raptor was bump up the air pressure on all four corners and bump up the preload a notch or two. My preload is set to the max up front but you make like it a little softer.

I would wait on switching tires until after you have widened it. you will find that once widened, a little body language is all that's needed to send it into a powerslide. Once you get that wider stance and it will break loose on command, you will glad for those tires that will actually get some traction.

Get some wheel spacers. You will hear good and bad about them, but unless you are a hard core jumper or whoop crasher, they will be fine. It will give you time to plan for a-arms, axle and shocks.
I think the stock tires are great. I run 7 pounds in the rear and 6 in the front. I get good cornering on hard pack with just the right amount of slide.
