I saw an add in dirt wheels about swing arm extensions and i was wondering if anyone in here has used one. I need to make my blaster longer but i cant get a new swing arm. I ride mx and i didnt think that extension would hold up.

 

Does anybody in here have one.

 

I have used the A&R 2in. extension on my Blaster. The extra 2in. does make a noticable difference. I did like it. The trouble I had was due to the chain length I needed using it with an Amp Link. I was always about a half link off, too long, or too short, using the stock rear sprocket. I have not heard of anyone having that problem using chain sliders or rollers. The tabs where the skid plate attaches to broke off the first hit it took. It eventually developed a crack but the way I ride I would say it survived well. I plan on adding 2-3 in. again in the future.

 

What about the brake line. Do you have to extend it?

What about the axle hub. Is it easy to transfer this hub from the stock arm to the extension pieces?

What is involved in put one on?

 

I would think that the extension would put more pressure on your bushings and make them wear out faster.

 

The A&R extension kit comes with brake line adapter. You will have disconnect your parking brake, who needs it anyway. It is an easy conversion.

 

It has no affect on any bushings. It actually lets your suspension work much better.

 

What about the chain length? Will I need to add links to the chain? If so, is this easy, or should I have my local Yamaha shop extend it?

 

The kit comes with six extra lengths of 520 O ring chain. You will need an extra master link. If you have a grinder you can do this modification.
