I just returned as well - the Hella experiment worked great - much better than the TT Torches, not probs at all. Cant say that for my tranny.....

Default UPDATE!!! Stupid HIDs

what happened to your tranny?
i see you have the 02 gears inside.are they toast also.i still have the 01 original, not extra crispy.so far i cant figure out why mine has lasted this long.i have mods and race it up hills and it hangs in there.i dont force it if i miss the shift and i change the oil every 2 trips at most.other than that i'm putting the money aside.

I wont know the extent of the tranny problem until I pull it apart. - What a pain - especially after doing it just last year.....see my other post for more details.

It happened on a night ride so getting pulled back was less than fun !! At least my lights proved to work well.....

blinddog, there where so many people with so many raptors. Did you hang out at patton much? We played there and made allot of trips through the dunes. If you look at my picks and I had an american flag. We put on the blue lock tight on my son TT and had no problems at all this trip. The spring loaded holders came from TT but I don't think we will mess with the lights until it happens again.

Fisher, when did your tranny go out on you. Did you at least get some good ridding in before it happened?

Default UPDATE!!! Stupid HIDs

It happened Fri night.....I was able to get 1.5 night rides (the .5 on the end of a rope doesnt count for 2) and a full day ride in before I got sidelined on the Raptor. I was able to confirm that I really like the Hellas and they seemed to hold up great.

I normally bring a back-up bike whenever I take the Raptor to the dunes (second New Years trip in a row I've had terminal problems early in the trip). I transistioned to two wheels (KLX300) for the rest of the weekend - that's a thrill especially for a beginner like me.

Sorry you have the tranny problem, good your hellas do the job for ya. I bet they light the way really nice. I have PIAA's in my stock lights. They work better than stock, but not near as nice as what you have I'm sure. I got stuck in the sand with my motorhome and trailer. That took 2 1/2 hours of fun out of my start of the new year.
