Default I need information!!!

I just got a new 2004 Warrior and every once in awhile when I try to take off in first gear I hear a noise that sounds like my gears are grinding and I dont move. Like my gears aren't catching. It doesn't do this all the time, but when it does it doesn't sound good. Does anybody out there know what this noise is and why it is occuring. Also if there are any suggestions on what I should do about this problem, please reply to my message.

Sounds like your chain might be jumping. Check the slack in it, and also make sure your sprokets have all their teeth.

Also check to make sure that your reverse is fully engaged eiter forward or backward. The warrior reverse lever will engage in any gear and if you don't get it fully locked in place, it will slip back to a kind of false neutral and you will hear a grinding sound like you have described.

Let us know what it turns out to be.

its the reverse lever. just push it forward all the way. some time u have to slip the clutch to get it to disengage all the way

Thanks for the information on the reverse problem, but what about when I hear that sound and it doesn't shift into first gear. Even if I push the gear down all the way it still does that. I got information from a local rider and he said that I need to adjust my clutch. Do you think that he is right?

So even though the reverse light on my bike is off it could still be engaged? And what about when I hear this in first gear. When this happens I kinda roll my bike back and forth and then shift down and then it will work. Please give me any more information that you know.

ok it will do this in any gear. if you go from reverse to forward. someitmes it wont disengage all the way. the gear thing is between driver and reverse and so it just catches a lil bit. so when u put in in forward it does help if you roll it back and forth a lil bit to make it go forward easier but next time it does that clickin just take your hand and pusht he lever forward a lil and see what it does.
