Raptor Tire and Wheel Help
#1
Ok, time to replace tires and wheels. I am thinking about the ITP Holeshot XC or XCR.
Anyone know advantages/disadvantages to these?
Also, I am don't know what to look for in the front tires (except new ones).
Typical riding is New Mexico desert racing, rocks, hardpack sand etc, not many dunes.
Any opinions/suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

holeshot XCTs dude! 23" front, 22" rear. change countershaft by one tooth. solves all yer sharp rock problems, very durable, not a single flat yet! And an extra inch of ground clearance as well. very impressive! look in my pictures and youll see em.
and traction? youll be impressed!

I'm in similar terrain. The Holeshots are hard to beat. I've been running Kenda Knarly rears and have had good luck - I think the holeshot sidewalls are tougher. Up front I like the Bandit (XCT kevlar) they are VERY tough. Traction is OK....No matter what make sure it's a 6-ply.
Wheels - the ITP Baja T-9s are great. Ya get the light weight of aluminum with the rim rings for strength. I really reccommend them for rocky stuff - not overly priced either.
By the way - ever ride in the Gila / Saddle Rock area ?

Thanks for the advice.
No, I have never ridden in the Gila Saddle Rock area but I am open to just about anything.
Where is it?

Outside of Silver City - near the Tyrone mine. Gila Natl forest. Tons of great trails with a little of everything and lots of beautiful country. We escape there a couple times each summer to avoid the AZ heat. One day we logged over 100 miles of trail. Grab a topo map and look for Saddle Rock - that's sort of the central area - from there it fingers out all over.
