My brother has a tecate 4 bored to 265 that beat a raptor in a 1/4 mile race by 2 quad lenghts

 

Yes that person was me. He slowed down after he passed me because the road got narrow or something. I think I could have took him if we went further.

 

RockyLou do you have the raptor or the tecate? What the heck is a tecate? any pics?

 

Tecate is a 4 wheeler from kawasaki built in the mid to late 80's. I just recently sold mine. It was a fun quad but could not do anything with my Craycraft raptor. To me it ran equal to a stock banshee. Mine tecate had a pipe and v-force reeds and a clamp on filter. Very fun 2 stroke with a lot of potentional.

 

Raptor. It is a cool two stroke but you would have to do a good bit to it to beat a raptor.

 

the tecate was the transfer 2stroke 3 to four wheeler and the kawi market share of the 250 two stroke market. The honda ATC250r became the TRX250r. the Kawasaki Tecate3 became the Kawasaki Tecate4 and suzuki had it's LT250r quadracer. yamaha jumped from their 250cc Triz to the still standing banshee. only difference of the old banshees was some suspention and it had J arms instead of A arms. The banshee engine was a derivitive of the liquid cooled yamaha RZ350 street bike.

 

Tecate can probably take a raptor.
