The Warrior might have higher top speed, but the 300EX has a LOT better suspension and general handling. When I had my 300EX and would swap rides with my Warrior riding friends, even they commented on how much smoother and more neutral the ride was on the 300EX. When you get into some tight woods trails, the 300EX outshines the Warrior. If you're doing a lot of high speed running, the Warrior would be better....just my opinion, but I HAVE ridden both. I'm 6', 170 lbs. and didn't feel like the 300EX was too small, but the Warrior is better suited, riding position-wise, for taller riders.
Just another opinion to help muddy the waters.

IMO, the 300ex is underrated to some of the people who own warriors. some people(not spincycle esspecially) might say "warrior- 6 speed, 300ex-5 speed/ warrior 349ccs, 300ex- 282 ccs" well, if a 282 cc quad can keep up with a 349 cc quad with +1 gear, then i think thats pretty dam good, I rode my buddies warrior and i wanted off of it, no its not a bad quad, but it has its own good points, but i think the 300ex has more strong points, like handling/trails, suspension/track, weight, wheelies . the warrior has better top speed, acceleration, fits bigger riders(even though i dont feel to cramped on my 300ex @ 6').plus if you want a load of extra power, throw a WB E-series pipe/silencer on. but anyway thats just my .02 so take it or leave it.
