Default Need help with Banshee

I bought a 2000 Banshee and decided to add to it. It had Paul Turner pipes, K&n filter with a clamp on billet adapter, a jet kit and tors eliminator kit for the carbs. It cranked and ran good. I rode it a few weeks and decided to start adding acc. I added a set of V-Force reeds and a boost bottle along with alot of billet stuff. Now it wont start. If I pull it with another quad and start it then its okay. Get it warm and it runs great. Turn it off and it will start first kick. I dont even have to stand to get it to start. It seems to have enough compression but I dont know. Ill take it next week and get it checked. If you wait about an hour it will start sometimes but very difficult. Kick and kick and it will slowly but surely It will start. I dont know whats wrong and am very frustrated. Pluggs look good and I tried a little hotter plug and no good. Anyone have any suggestions because Im ready to drive I mean push it off a cliff.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITs been a while since I have messed with the stock banshee carbs but I think there is a small 1/8" dia tube that runs between the carbs and alows you to choke both carbs with one lever. If that has come loose U may only be choking one carb. That may or may not be the problem but never hurts to start with the simplest stuff first

You are describing a lean air/fuel pilot screw adjustment or the need for a larger pilot if the screw adjustment wont help enough. But first try this: remove the carbs and clean them out real good and use compressed air to clear all passages.

I once had similar problems. Try these things: I found that it's best to burn the gas out of the carbs before you put the bike away. Turn the gas off and let it idle itself out. Starts much easier next time. Also, how does it idle when it is running? Could be the pilot jets and/or idle screws that need to be adjusted. The slides may be set too high or too low for proper low end carburetion.

It idles great. How many turns out on the air screw at sealevel? The only thing that confusses me is that it didnt have this problem before. Will the reeds or boost bottle affect this. It also developed before I changed the reeds. Will a boost bottle cause any of these problems. I did mess with the air screws. They are at 4 turns out on both.

What do u mean by a Tors Eliminator kit? I had this problem with mine and it was the Tors but I just removed the Tors "brain" box and all the related components and that cured my problems

You made your idle circuit leaner by going 4 turns out, bad move, go and put them at 1-1/2 turns out and give it a try. On banshee carbs turning the screws out leans/decreases the flow and turning them in increases/richins fuel flow.
