Rivers, deepcreeks and mud and you do not want to get off? Better get the one with reverse and 4wd.

Get a Wolverine. It is in my opinion the best sport 4x4. You can stroker her to 500cc and put a manual clutch. No it won't be as fast as the Banshee but from the sound of it you need more torque that a speed demon. Or if a 2wd is okay but still wan't E-start and reverse get a Warrior of Raptor. Good luck.

do you want a pure sport? Or a Sport/4x4?

It really comes down to that.

Somethings to look at 4x4, go more places than a banshee, Easier to get there, more comfortable ride. But it is heavy, and kind of bulky.

Banshee, Fast, Fun, Good for racing, i didn't have any luck with it on trails, not good in mud, light, and just plain cool.

In my opinion the Wolverine comes in second to the Scrambler. My friend just got one and it's hard to turn cause the all time 4wd. It won't outrun my 98 Explorer, it won't handle as good as my Explorer, doesn't have selectable 4wd, doesn't have liquid cooling(oil cooled instead, and it doesn't have a speedo. It was hard to believe how I beat him in the corners, how much I out-accellerated him, and how much space it took him to turn around.

That's my opinion.
I'm sure someone will chew on me. I just think for the buck the Scrambler is the stuff you need in a sport 4by4.

If your financing, then you have to make your desion before buying. but you can find a used banshee for about $1500. if you have that, look for a good running used one, ride it for a while. If you like it great, buy new plastic. If you don't, sell it, If your thrifty when you buy, you'll get the same out of it. Then get the Scrambler. I wanted the Auto-trans, full floor-boards and revese. I got the Sport 400, its a 2x4 version of the scrambler. I love it! But I wish now I would have gone for the 4x4.
P.S. If you ride for lone periods, the scrambler will be more comfortable and leave you less fatigued.

I don't think either quad will do 70. I know the Scrambler wont in stock form. From what you need, I'd say the Scrambler would better suit your needs.
