Default Raced a 04' Predator...

I got to race a 04' Predator with a 13 tooth front, and the baffles out. Beat him by 7-9 bike lenghts. We raced on pavement, for about 1/4 mile. It surpised me that it the Predator was able to the best the two piped Z400's that was riding with me.

The guy at the dealership told him if he couldn't beat the new 450's with the Predator, to bring it back and he would tell him wha to do so that he could beat the.

Even if the Pred had the stock exhaust and you were piped you shouldnt have beaten him by much, if at all if you were riding on pavement. The only way I've seen any Predators loose to a Rappy is if traction is a problem. I think I lost/tied to a few Raptors when I was stock but as soon as I was piped I would get out in front and stay there. Maybe you jsut got yourself a nice quad.

That must have been one REALLY poorly jetted Predator or a bad rider or something. Could be that you're just a good rider too. But last weekend at the ice races I went to there was an all stock predator running neck and neck and even beating some 450's. A stock Predator isn't no slouch from what I've seen no matter who says that they're slow. They might be slow if compared "mod for mod" because I don't know how well they respond to mods. But the SAME Predator ran another class with the 450's and he put a Pure Polaris/WB pipe on it and it ran VERY NOTICABLY SLOWER than when it had the stock pipe on it! I was shocked by this but it only proves that jetting plays a crutial role in performance.... Especially a "piped" Predator, because it only seemed to hurt performance after he put the pipe on it.

Lot's of people have told me I got a keeper.

The Predator did run real well against the Z400's. One has a Uni Filter w/ air box lid and a Yoshi full pipe. The other has a full alba stage three system, and the Predator beat them both. The predator impressed me pretty well, but didn't come close to me in any of our races. Maybe after he gets his pipe he will close the distance some.

The predator I raced wasn't jetted up or anything. It was just stock, two days old, and had the baffles pulled. He didnt' jet up or anything, and my buddy got to ride it. He said it had great take off, but was lacking on top end when he put the 13 tooth on. I was there when he showed up and wanted to drop the front sprocket. So we done that work and then raced a couple times. If the snow comes tonight we are going to ride again, and hopefully get to race again.

Maybe I'll let the guy on the pred ride my raptor, and I'll race my bike on the pred. Not sure what tomorrow will bring, but the predator wasn't a joke like I had originally thought.

But in stock form, it didn't come close to my Raptor.

The Predator isn't slow, I saw 2 of my buddies race on pavment, one on an 03 predator and one on an 02 bashee, both stock, the Predator won buy several quad lenths easily.

The only reason you were that far ahead was A:, it was a 1/4 mile run, and B:, the 13t front sprocket really gears a pred down on top speed...prob. 65 tops!! So yeah, with that much road he probably got slowed down cause he couldn't shift fast enough, and then he topped out too fast.

The predator is definetly not slow. They are quicker then what I thought, and I was definetly impressed with it's performance.
