im finally gonna go pick up the shee tomorrow! gotta get up early (providing that i get to sleep that is) and wash the blaster, have it lookin all shiny and nice for the trade in. anyway, im sure ill be ripping around the property about 5 mins after i get it off the trailer, and i was just wondering what you would suggest as the best break-in process? and what (break-in) maintenance should i perform and when? also, what fuel to oil ratio would you suggest? (alt. appx. 1000').
thx everybody!

Don't go any past 3/4 throttle for the first tank. I'm not real sure about stock banshees, but your dealer should know. I think the book says 24:1 with Yamalube, but most guys I know run 32:1, most of them have some type of engine mod though..

YEah your dealer should know. Me personally I just break it in how im going to ride it. Youll learn a lot of the people do the same. And also. CONGRATS! Finnaly stepping up. We all remember how bad u wanted the shee. lol

Break in is 3 cycles..
1st - Warm up for 5 min, then ride for 15 never going over 1/4 throttle. Then let it COMPLETELY COOL.
2nd - warm up again for 5 min, then ride for 15 never going over 1/2 throttle. Then again let it COMPLETELY COOL.
3rd and last - warm up for 5 min, then ride for 15 slowly bringing it to full throttle. Then again let it completely cool, drain the oil, replace it (1.5 quarts of 10W-30 NON SYNTHETIC) then you are ready.
Oil ratio is 32:1 with Yamalube or similar, and 50:1 with amsoil.
Hope that works.

broken shee has the right break in ideas. I'm sure the dealership has already started it so you wont have to worry about the heat cycle. if it hasn't been started, be sure to start it let it warm up and then let it cool to cold. this alows for you rings to set properly. dealers tell you to take so long b/c they want to vcover their buts. it's really only 1 tank of gas before you really get full throttle.
