Default 1998 yamaha grizzly tranny problems please help

as you can see from above i have a 1998 yamaha grizzly and have never had a problem, i use it mostly for plowing we have been having colder than normal temp's. I started the quad right up but couldnt shift it into gear after letting it run for a little while I was able to get it into rev. but no into forward. I made the mistake fo leaving it into reverse when i placed it into my garage and now i cant get it out of reverse either has anubody out there had similar problems or can you offer me any ideas it would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance paul

Chances are your engine is running a little too fast. If everything was working fine before then you may find that your choke cable is sticking slightly, more than likely caused by icing in the cable. Can you turn it off then shift it into the gear you want, then restart it? Beyond that, perhaps you have some snow / ice interfering with the shift linkage. One way or the other I bet you are experiencing an icing problem…
