Default Banshee over heating

It done this when i first got it but i thought it was from it being very hot out side and not moving fast enough..

This is what happened it was 12degrees outside when this took place, I was riding all doing well.. I stopped for a second let it idle to talk to a friend it could have not been more then a few seconds when i turned around i had antifreeze spraying out of the over flow hose... I let it cool down for a min and all was fine, but if i got back to a idle for just a min it seems like it is over heating..

I have checked just about everything radiator is free of debris coolant is full, I have not yet checked the water pump....

Is this common with banshees? To me the cooling system seems to be poorly engineered...

P.S. This will happen wether i have been riding for 10 hours or just started up but once i am moving its fine even with no fan it should not over heat that fast....

Thanks for any help

I have the same problem, so I am curious about this also! Maybe just a banshee thing!

It could have a broken impeller shaft for the water pump or the jetting is too lean that would cause it also. When i had my banshee I ran Redline water wetter in the antifreeze it helped when I was running my banshee real hard! Hope this helps.

You got to remember that cold temp outside will effect the jetting then warmer weather.... Sound like you were lean. Did you do a plug check in cold weather? Possible broken impeller too but never know till you check it out....

O yeah, The guy i got this quad from beat the heck out of it day after day, I got it real cheap though so i can't complain, But nothing will surprise my with this quad...

Banshee's must be pretty dam good after what this guy did to it and he never put money in it, And she still runs good

I am going to take the whole thing a part and make it a full dune machine anyway i guess i will be doing it earlier then i wanted too...
