Will this work?? HELP ASAP
#1
I have a 35 pwk on the way, but now know that for bottom end i need a 33mm. I found a 34 pj that came off of a 250r. Will this work on my shee and where will this carb help (low, mid, or high)? Should I try and buy the pj or keep looking for a 33 pwk? Please help asap because I don't have very long to decide. Thanks

yeah, reading it again it doesnt make a lot of sense. I bought a used 35mm keihin pwk 2 into 1 carb from some guy, and it is in the mail on the way to me right now. An engine builder that I talked to said that I need a 33mm instead of a 35 if I want more bottom end. I always thought that for ported motors, and I even have intake porting, the 35 preformed better than a 33. Never mind the question about the pj carb, my question is which carb should I be using if I want more bottom end?

So did you get to talk to the guy I sent you to? Honestly for bottom end the 33 does work very well. Many people will tell you different theories they have for single carbs and how a 33 wont fuel a banshee efficiently. But if low end is what you are looking for I've enjoyed my 33PWK, I wouldnt go back to dual carbs for anything unless I was sand drag racing all the time. Of the single carb friends I have right now which is about 6, they all love it and have 33PWK with work that varies from nothing but pipes to MX port work 180+ lbs of compression. If you got a good deal on the 35 use it, the 33 has worked better for me. I can tell quite a bit of difference in riding mine(33pwk)and my dads(35pwk) bike. My bottom end is better and he was even geared a little lower than mine. So how much did you get the kit for?

I got the keihin carb, intake tracks, k&n filter and clamps, and throttle cable for $250. I would really like to get a 33 and hopefully I can find somebody willing to trade. I first have to sell my T-5's and get a low end pipe. Yes, carl did say to go with the 33 and I will try to find one cheap.

I really like the T5's with my setup. The low end is still really good, and with the lightened flywheel it revs fast coming out of the turns. Granted I'm trail riding and not mxing but the T5's have done pretty well. My buddy that used to MX switched from T5's to Paul Turners and said he really liked them for MX. They are just a pain to fit on the bike. The only pipes he had trouble with were the CT pipes on his banshee, their show chrome was a joke, poor fitment, poor quality, I dont know how many times the pipe brackets broke off the silencers. They wouldnt replace them either, told him he was riding too hard. Well DUH how else do you ride a banshee!
