Funny thread boys LMAO
Since I own both Hondas and Yamahas I am not really as biased as the posters here or in the honda forum, but I think both sides are going to be happy with the performance of these machine.
I am just judging this based on how the two wheeled versions of these engines perform and what has be seen of the two quads so far.
Only thing I think may be potentially hard for some of the Yamaha fans who talk much harder than they ride or are just the average trail rider with a flair for bustin chops etc is that the crf has proven to be much easier to ride then the yz (in the two wheel versions, and this has been shown in many diff tests and comparisons) due to the more linear power of the crf v/s the high end hit of the yz in stock form. Its this more usable power delivery that may make the average rider not just less fatigued but also faster.
Time will tell and its the modded full race versions that I would be more interested in anyhow since we cant forget that friends dont let friends ride stock machines

Hey Ridley,
Are trying to be sarcastic, or are you saying that the huge HP difference between the two really makes the TRX a dog and the YFZ perfect? Can't tell just by reading your post.

Can someone tell me why Honda released the HRC power kit with the quad and Yamaha didn't have to release a power kit. Was Honda afraid of something and didn't want to admit it or just trying to make some extra money. This is what I am reading in other threads, everybody getting the HRC kit with there quad.

I'm no mechanic so I have no clue to dissagree with his theory. I take it as just another way of doing things, could be better, could be worse. However the only thing I know is that I have been breakin in bikes like the manual says for 30 years and the bikes have never let me down. Maybe things have changed to wear you do not have to be as carefull as you used to, but a little caution during break in is always a good thing to me. Just my .01 cent.
