Default Z-400 or Raptor?

I have one of each... You won't go wrong with either, but the Z-400 is overall a slightly better bike. Both my bikes are bone stock, no mods, pipes, filters, jets, etc. My riding tastes are mostly trail riding, little if any motocross.

The Z-400 handles better, "Feels" much lighter than it is, and mine has been a little easier to maintain. It wheelies and jumps well, and has a slightly wider rear axle than the Raptor.

The Raptor has LOTS more low-end grunt (it's a freakin' rush!), it seems to handle whoops better (although I haven't done much with the rear shock on the Z), and wheelies & jumps well.

I couldn't flame eiter one, they both have distinctly different personalities... Try to compare a Porche (the Z-400) with a Corvette (the Raptor)... The're bot faster than stink, the Porche is like a sewing machine on acid, while the 'Vette has a "Get the hell outta my way!" attitude.

Just my 3 1/2 cents!

What is see missing her is size.
How big are you.
A bigger guy might like the somewhat larger layout of the Rapter.
If you are not a huge guy the more nimble nature of the z-400 will be a better match.

I don't think you will be dissapointed either way.

I'd say go with the raptor given your size. You never know when you might want the little extra power. Neither of them are slow though and I have a raptor that I dont really think handles all that bad. I have also never rode a Z but I have seen many out on the dunes. Id say if you want more power go with the Raptor, if you want better handling although im not so sure at stock that they are all that much different go with the Z. I have always heard they handle well for stock but like i said I really dont think the raptor is all that bad to ride either.

Definately go with the Raptor. My friend with a Z-400 with yosh pipe cant get enough of my raptor. He loves riding that thing, some time he rides it longer than me!! LOL. Definately go with the Raptor. Also will fit your size more.

Go with the Raptor....definetly...no replacement for displacement. It will do everything the Z will do, and some of it even better!LOL

Maybe he meant a Warrior aint much slower so you should get the Raptor. Know first then jump em.
