Default 95 Blaster headups

Sup all... New to the forums. Thought I would axe a few questions here and pick some of yo brains about a 95 blaster my buddy just got from a used party. Any help would be mucho appreciated as we have yet to score a manual (cost $60 on yamaha's site but keeps getting spent on beer)

1) What is the viscosity of the oil to be used in the tranny case? My KX-250 uses 10-30, but the dude at the bike shop said we could use honda's 80W tranny oil.

2) The key we got for the ignition system keeps sticking and won't turn all the way so we popped it off and bypassed it. Will it kick over or do we need to get a new ignition setup on ebay?

Thanks in advance.

when you take of the key ignition system there is two plugs in the back that run frun the key, unplug those and it should start right up.
my blaster (2000) uses 10w80

make sure the oil is not motor oil for a car or truck i was told that motor oil will not lube your clutches properly. In my wifes 230 Quadsport i use castrol 10w30 semi-synthetic motorcycle oil

10w30-40 automotive oil is just fine, been running it for years, don't believe the hype the dealers give you about using pricey motocycle oil, it may make a difference in a 4 stroke since the same oil lubes the engine and trans, but not in a 2 stroke.

Thx for feedback... We had already bought the Honda 80W so I just went ahead and dropped it in the tranny case. Only $4.95 for a bottle and you get a few changes with it so figured what the hell.

Blaster still won't start even after changing out the plug and flushing the bad gas from the tank/lines.

After taking off the ignition system I looped the connectors to each other (male into female) Should I just leave these be or should they be connected?

Also would it help if we replaced the 12V battery? Cuz not even the headlight is coming on.
