dont own a blaster but i have rode two (03 and a 00). get her a 04 or 03 if you can the disc brakes are much better than the old drums. its a small quad though. kind of a choppy ride. im 5''8 155 pounds and i felt a little cramped. for first mods deffinatly check out a K&N air filter. that cost about 35 dollars. a nice exhaust system would be this one by trenga racing (they make products exclusively for the blaster) the pipe is by trenga and the silencer is by LRD. check it out here http://www.trengaracing.com/catalog/...d6f5eab5ba678d

copy and paste and that will bring you there. hope this helps

With a blsater the mods just keep going and going and going. It is a pretty small quad but it can be changed with some extended parts like a-arms and axles. If she isn't going to be doing much jumps then it can be easily widened by some wheel spacers but if money isn't a issue then defently go fro some extended parts.

Motor wise the blaster deffently has some potential. You can pipe it out with almost anything you want, thats just a matter of preference. Reeds and reed cages go easily on a blaster and work well with air filters and pipes. You can get these things almost anywhere. Try taking to your local dealer or go on e-bay.

The first mod i would buy would be a block off kit and mix your own gas. Then i would get toomey pipes and k&n air filter.

I would change it because the oil injector went out on mine. It only costs around 30 and is worth it.

Personally I don't think there's a big risk with the injection sysytem. Why would yamaha design something to fail?? yes you hear stories about them going bad, but think of the hundreds of blasters that have run flawless with them for years. If It makes you feel better you can, but would the g/f want to be mixing gas and oil?

First modds, razrs or holeshots they really do make it safer in a way.

Lol look at how many things have "failed" on yamaha's before. My oil injection system went out about 6 months to a year after having my blaster.
