Default Wolvering Cutting out

It has been a long time since I have been on this forum. Most of my time has been into replacing my Jeep Rubicon's engine.

Now that old man winter has set in the Wolverine is needed for pushing snow. Being foolish, last year I never reseached in to why it is would cut out at or above 1/2 throttle.

My first guess was the ebrake swich. I unplugged it and then looped the wires that go to the CDI. When i did not work agian, I allowed the wires to hang freely (no grounding) and it did the same thing. Am I doing the ebrake swich bypass right or not?????

Now I have the Wolvy sitting/defrosting in the garage. I am going to discect the carburator once agian.

Any other suggestions?

Mine was doing the same thing last month. I opened the carb bowl drain screw for about 10 seconds, let it drain, tightened the screw back up, and it's been fine since then......could just be a spec of dirt that's plugging your main jet. Worth a try for the time it takes before you yank the carb anyways.
Have a good one!

The valves could be out of adjustment, or the air filter could be plugged. Float level could be too low. Plugged fuel valve and /or fuel filter.

I have it running fine now, and the snowplow is ready. When i took the carb apart i noticed some 'gunk' in the main jet. Turn out this 'gunk' was a bug, seemed to be a knat. I dont know how it got into my gas system. My only guess in the little sucker crawled up through my vent hose and fell in.

Installing an small inline filter between gas tank and carb is cheap insurance against that. It may not catch everything, but it can certainly help.

I agree, but the stock peckock has its own small filter. There is NO WAY this bug went through that. It catches mostly dirt and sandy particals.

Yeah man, Ive had stuff like that in mine too. I did like Lotusposition said and put the in-line fuel filter in there, and i used a clear filter so I could see what all was in there, and man you would be surprised at how much foreign material actually gets through the petcock.
