Default polishing case

While I have the two sides off my bike I thought I should polish them. What's the best way to do this? Which products, tools?

What material are you trying to polish, that might help get a good, helpful reply.

Sorry dude, once it's off the first page, it's forgotten. I think it's aluminum. The side case covers on my Raptor. I'm sure some one else would know for sure.

Got a buffer and something to use with it? Start spinning.

I'm sure someone else has a better suggestion.

Thanks for the reply thomez but I pretty much had it up to there. I was just wondering mainly about products other guys might of used and what to do/not do.

ok, you take some large grain sandpaper and polish them off, then move to a slightly higher grit sand paper and make your way up till it is smooth to the touch, and the eye, make sure you are doing this in a buffing manuever, like rotating with the grain to make it appear proffesional, and when you are done buy some aluminum polish to finish it off
