Thats good news, Gary.....Bosch 3300 is the only one I found at Auto-Zone. I'm glad its worked out for you...puts my mind as ease.....until I'm on the line Sunday...LOL

Guys, great info on the oil filter. I've been buying Yamaha filters and there a little pricey. Also, not sure what you guys do for oil, but I use Castrol W10-30. I have a friend who is a chemical engineer and he did some test with different oils (Maxima, Yamalube etc) and found that Castrol doesn't foam like the others maintaining viscosity.

I used the factory ones the whole time I had my Raptor. I tried a WIX that was made for the Raptor at first, but it would not tighten down all the way and it leaked around the gaskett. Most of the major manufacturers have a part number listed for the Raptor by now. I really don't recommend using a car part number that just happens to work, like some of the Bosch filters.

What do you mean easily see whats trapped? Is there a see-threw window or somthing cause that would be awesome!!! lol

Was that standard Castrol w10-30? Did he check any of the semi / synthetics?

4life,
Since the filter element of the SCOTTs separates from the outer housing you can inspect the element for debris - as opposed to cutting the stock fiter apart.....

Yes, its standard W10-30. As for semi / synthetics, he still got better results from Castrol W10-30. I've been using it since 1998 with great results. I haven't had any problems with clutches nor internal components.
