hi guys .
how big of a tire can you get on a 600 grizzly without any mods.
the yamaha dealer said that 28x12x12s and 28x10x12s might rub.
what do you think .my buddy dosant whant to buy the tires then find out thay rub.
and now he needs a lift kit.
he dosant want to lift it.

 

27" 589s will rub on a 660 Grizzly, I don't know about the 600 though. I had one once but never got beyond the stock tires with it. The 660 has more suspension travel than the 600 so the fact that 27" tires rub on the 660 doesn't mean they will on the 600. You'll need someone with 600 experience to respond. Also the wheels used will be a factor, if you use wheels (such as ITP C-Series) which space the tires out further (giving you a wider track) the tires will stick out past the fenders and are more susceptible to rubbing than if they were still inside the fenders (since the edge of the fenders curve down, or towards the tire)...

 

I put 27" 589s on a 2001 Grizzly and used a 2" High-Lifter lift kit. The lift kit isn't a big deal, not like a suspension lift for a 4x4 truck.

 

i guess nobody out there has a 600 grizz with big tires.

WAIT! I am running 27'' x 12 and needed 2 inch lift kit. check it out in my pictures.

 

I'm running 27" 589's on my 2001 Grizzly, and they don't come close to rubbing on anything. In fact, when these tires are finished I'm going to go with a 28" tire. There is plenty of room!

hi guys i just thought you might like to know that my buddy put the 28x12x12 and 28x10x12 mud lites on his 600 grizz and the only problem is the tyerod ends are rubbing on the in side of the tires so i spaced them out 1/8th inch and thay dont rub now.
and the wheel nuts are still all the way on the stud.
