Default best shocks for my YFZ?

If i were to get some new aftermarket suspension what would you reccomend. I know elkas are very popular with there triple rate design or whatever but what about Works and Ohlins and other companies, this is for things like MX.

That's how many levels below or above each shock is IMHO. If you really want to know what the best is just look at what the top pros are running, they either run PEP/ZPS or Axis. Granted the top pros have their shocks handed to them but they will not run an inferior product just cause it's free, it's got to be something they believe will help them get to the finish line first. You're going to get other people who will probably respond to this thread and say Elka's or TCS's are just as good, blah, blah, blah. Here is a short article describing the benefits of a true ZPS shock like PEP offers if you're not familiar with what ZPS does.
The only downside to the PEP/ZPS's, they take longer to get than the others.

It is great to have the best stuff and all, but in a 99.99% reality check you don't need PEP and will do just fine with a properly setup set of Elka/TCS/Works/Ohlins - they are all top quality and you won't be waiting for a few months either.

But, to each his own.

I agree.
And more expensive does not mean "the best." People just like the best better...
