Dude, outlaw, your jiffy lube is not alone! Here in Iowa (oh yeah, I work at a ford dealership in parts) we have replaced a couple engines and trannys thanks to jiffylube oops's. We dont even use bulk oil for the diesels..only straight from the bottle motorcraft super duty 10w30/15w40. Also, Our oil bulk truck driver said that the bulk oil isnt even motorcraft. It is whatever was cheapest that month when they filled there supply. The truck even says penzoil all over it. I am sure this the case everywhere as there is no way to really tell, people just assume it is motorcraft oil. Sorry about your bad experience.

 

Oil changers aren't mechanics ! I'm a Mechanic / Fabricator have been for for over 20 years I'm to a point that I dont care to work on my own stuff unless it's a hop up . Cost me about 10.00 more to have them change the oil . I just have to watch them closely .
I heard a story of a neurosurgeon that was having his pickup worked on . when the mechanic didnt have it done when he wanted it (The surgeon) started in on the mechanic " HOW HARD COULD THIS BE IT'S NOT BRAIN SURGERY IN FACT YOU PROBLY DONT EVEN NEED A BRAIN TO DO IT "
A fter he recieved his truck he was headed off to who knows where when the front drive line U joint started to fail it ejected the lower part of the shaft into the ground and the rear then broke off and went upward threw the floor board at high velocity and hit the surgeon in the jaw and penetrated his brain .
Doctor= DOA Sad storie just remember it

The Jury is still out on whats gonna happen. They are going to drop the trans pan and inspect that next. I should know Monday.

 

feel sorry for ya man.. was a good race saw some of it on ESPN.. sorry bout the truck. but i knew someone elze w/ a 98 or 99 z71 and had the most problems i have ever seen before.. but then i stay away from GM's my self.
