It's funny how GasGas flames on Yamaha when they have Yamaha to thank for their own engine.
They copied the old Yamaha YZ400F engine, bumped it up, and gave it EFI.
GasGas denies it, but every dirtbike mag in the past two years has commented on it and even found proof of it based on parts interchangability.
It's just a jap motor with a spainard twist

Dyno numbers are irrelivent from one dyno to the other. The important part of this dyno reading is the fact the FMF pipe with a jet change makes what, 5-6hp more than stock? That's a good number. You also gain 1500 more useable RPM's. We all know the YFZ's haul butt stock.

The YFZ got the same sort of number on the HMF web site. WHY???? Simple!!!
If you read on the HMF web site they say that when they tested the YFZ, and it made the low values, it was due to the stock tires. Using dyno tires HMF says the YFZ makes 49 HP. Up from about 40HP with the stock tires.
I have seen my friends YFZ450 with a GYT-R slip-on and Airbox mods doing 44HP with knobbly tires.
HMF Web site
I hate it when other manufacturers make stupid claims, without knowing the facts. All it does it backfires in their faces and they cause their customers to get upset, due to "false" (not submitting all the facts) advertising.
