hey all i just added a 2004 blaster to collection, actually i bought it for my wife just this morning . any way i have not rode a 2 stroke since i was a kid , so my question is when i take off in 1st gear and hit the front end comes up nice but then it seems to bog down like there is no power left in that gear is this normal or should i bring the bike to the dealer to check it out and yes i increased the throttle lever adjustment . please any words of advice will help . thanks

Yes, just incase you didnt know?(not that im saying you dont) pull the choke when starting it, since its new, let it warm up for atleast 5 mins. my 03 blaster did the same thing when it was brand new, it didnt seem like it was getting all of its power to the wheels. but after about a month of break-in riding.....(very import to break it in properly) it loosen'd up alot and started to feel more powerful than it was new. so its most likely the fact that the engine just needs to break-in.
Congrats on your new blaster, have fun with it...

the blasters are a very wierd bike when it comes to warming up. I have let mine sit for like 10 mins and thenwent out and rode it and it still ran like it was frozen solid. If you dont let your bike warm up properly then I find it runs like sh!+ the rest of the day.
Also seeing how it is brand new i would give it a while before you rush down and pay someone 50 bucks a hour to look at it and tell you its fine.

well when i got mine the dude told me to break it in buy a procedure called 1-2-3 u go about 1/2 speed in each gear and switch gears, u do the same but u down shift and then up 1-2-3 for 10 minutes the u let it sit for 10 min then get on it a again and do 4-5-6, down 4-5-6 for another ten minutes then u let it sit for another 10 minnutes then u do 1-2-3-4-5-6 but all at half speed but i dont remember howmany time u do the procedure but it worked for mine great
