compete with the 300ex you mean the 400ex. the 300ex can't run with a warrior.
A 300ex can keep up/beat a warrior without much trouble.
Uhh...no. It takes some good mods for a 300 to beat a warrior! Keep up, yes but beat...no. Warriors put out more hp and more torque...especially with a 2 valve head which makes more torque than a 4. The 300 is VERY mild stock too and doesn't gain much from mods. This new 350 is gonna absolutly smoke the 300 in all aspects though...Honda better improve their lineup soon cause it looks like yamaha is kickin their butt.
OH NO!!! Not another "this quad which isn't even being ridden by anyone yet is going to smoke this quad ... "

Personally .. I'm very disappointed in Yamaha for this latest addition to the lineup. Any thoughts on what the 33mm carb will do to the engine performance vs. the 36mm on the warrior??

If they were going to bring on a new quad to bascially replace the warrior, then why keep the Warrior in the lineup? And why another Raptor??? That makes 3 plus a lookalike for the Raptors (YFZ) ... Yamaha's gonna have to rename their "Pure Sport" lineup of ATV's to the "Raptor" line of ATV's.

I dont think that Yamaha madea a very wise decision in making the raptor 350. Why not re-form the old warrior plastics to look half decent. They should have at least kept the name, or anything, just to keep it different from the 660, and the yfz

LOL!! You must be kidding. The 300ex is better than the warrior in all aspects except top speed and hill climbing. The 300ex has better supension, its lighter, more nimble, and one the best trail machines out there! What are you smokin kid?

I gotta agree with you, except I would add another exception .. I (and this is a personal opinion) think the Warrior is a better looking machine But yah .. the 300EX, overall, is a better performer.

I'm speaking from logic dumba$$! Most people and most reviews f the bikes perfer the warrior over the 300ex for many reasons...power, stability, size, overall comfort, reliability, and etc. If the Warrior is perfered by most how it is already then improvements to chassis, suspension, power, and comfort is gonna make it top the 300ex even more! Think about it! It CAN'T be worse than the original Warrior.

I do agree with the fact that they should of kept the raptor name out, its kinda cheezy and unoriginal, but I bet it will make it sell more.

I understand that the Warrior needed refreshening but a 350 is no longer "where its at". I think they should have brought a Z400/Clone fighter or even 400EX(although this STILL doesn't have reverse). This is a def. improvement but it won't hang with the 400's, at least not in stock form and though some would say it is too close to the 450, but they are for different purposes and with different prices they would not compete.

Bottom line, better, but not exactly what they needed.

I agree I am kind've disappointed in the engine, but hey...atleast Yamaha is making alot of new quads instead of keep making the same exact quads year after year with no improvement(excluding banshee, warrior, and blaster lol but Yamaha is making new quads anyway)...(hint hint, honda?)

And if you say a 300ex is faster than a warrior...I have got to ask what you are smoking..I hate to see it turn into on of these forums..but its starting to so might as well go along with it....a 300ex handles better, yes, but it is not faster by any means.

It costs alot of money to design a whole new quad with a new engine. Redesigning around the warrior platform was prolly more cost effective and still creates a quad to compete in the sport market with the 300ex. These improvements alone moved the warrior out of obsolete status which is all it needed to compete better.
