He should be fine, but it might seem a little small. I'm 6' and my cousin's is just fine. As far as the weight, the shee should have no problems there either. A guy I race with has a trx250r and out runs most 4 strokes and a lot of banshees. He pushes 350lbs.

I'm 6' 6", and a Banshee is alright for me, but I prefer the 500. I've owned three. If he weighs 255, I would suggest the 500 because it has a ton of torque. I rode a Banshee when I weighed 225, and it moved me pretty good, but my 500 felt like it did it faster and easier. The 500 is a lot easier to deal with for long rides. It has a good hit, but not the lightswitch power of a Banshee. That just wears you out over time. Plus, the Banshee is the old "two of everything" routine when it comes time to work on it. 4-5K will buy a sweet 500 in any market.

I ride/race banshees (check sig). I am 6' and did weigh 340lbs at the end of last racing season. The banshee is the only bike that seem comfortable to me and my size.

From what ive seen, he'll be fine. i see more 'big' guys on banshee's than any other sport quad.

so would what would you recommend more, the banshee or the zilla.also he found a banshee for 3000.1999 all stock, and he was also considering a zilla.we found one of those it was an 89,and cost 3000 obo.and he wants alot of bottom end for when we do ride hills trails mud etc,and i know that the 500 has more bottom.so he would still have around 2500 dollars to spend on mods, susp, exh, motor, etc.anyways what would you recommend?

take into consideration: zilla parts are a lot more rare than banshee parts.
zilla frames are notorious for not being so strong.

That is true about the parts and frames. The main reason for the parts availability for the Banshee is that it has been in constant production for 18 years, whereas the 500 was only produced for four model years. But, there are still a lot of parts available for it. If he wants a lot of bottom end, he should go with a 500. He would have to be jumping the bike hard to really tear the frame up. Just keep an eye on it. I've owned three, and only one had a cracked frame, and it was a five minute fix with the welder. I've only seen cracks at the lower steering stem bushing support and the a-arm tabs, and I've seen literally thousands of 500s out at the sand hills. Look one over really good before buying it. The Banshee is a good bike, but it really has no bottom end without spending a ton of money on it. With the 500, you're already ahead of the game for torque. In the end, though, it's up to him to decide.
