From what I understand a couple of bad batches went out from JE. I am not sure a hole burnt in the center of the piston equates into a manufacturing defect...thats usually jetting. Folks, if you cannot trust JE, you cannot trust anyone making your pistons. My stockbore 10.75/1 has plenty of hours on it.

I must have got one of the bad batch ones because my jetting is spot on ...and i had plenty of hours on it also till it burned a hole...

me and wshrdskn had a hole in the exact same spot and we run diffrent jetting and jets..go figure..

The hole in raptor03s was not melted from a lean mixture. The piston cracked along the intake valve reliefs and developed a hole in the crack. Detonation was probably a contributing factor but a lean mixture was not. Off the top of my head I've heard of 4 with similar cracks a couple that have broke at the pin bosses and a wrist pin breaking, if I sit hear and think about it I'm sure I could remember some more.
Maybe there's a good explanation for all of these failures but I doubt it. I've lost faith in JE.

I didn't have a problem with my JE piston, but the JE WRIST PIN BROKE IN HALF!!! does jetting cause that???

I had a je piston crack a put a hole in the center. I called je and sent the piston back for inspection. They told me that it was caused by denotation. He said that it wasn't a manufacture problem. But, they sent me a new piston a week later. What I found was the wrist pin on the older pistons was 55mm long, the new ones are 64mm. Which tells me they had a problem with flex.
