Default How often do you change your antifreeze?

Ive got a year on mine and its gone through some hot days 110F+ and I think its getting kinda black and Im losing a little coolant because I toped it off with water like 3 months ago and now its back to LOW and looks darker. I think I might have some problems with my rings or my head gasket. Quad runs fine, doesnt overheat, doest "puke" coolant all of a sudden and has not loss in power. Can someone help me out here?

When you get your quad good and hot it will "lose" a little coolant. Not anything to worry about. They all do it. Same story with automobiles, etc. The key things to look for if your internally loosing coolant is to check the plug and make sure it is not turning green. Coolant in the cylinder will cause the plug tip/porcelin insulator to turn a greenish color. And keep an eye on your motor oil. It will develop a greyish choclate milk look to it. Other than that normal coolant loss through your overflow tube is just normal, and shouldn't be anything to worry about.

The problem is that it has a low coolant level when cold and keeps it that way even if warm. Ive changed plugs plenty of times and they havent looked green to me, they were nice and tan, oil smelled a bit like gas but thats it. I think Im just being a bit paranoid.

I switched to Cycle Logic Engine Ice last summer and it reduces the engine temp. My engine never gets hot enough for the fan to turn on.Works great.

I think your probably right. Sometimes we all have a tendency of reading too deeply into things...... Funny, I had heard that was a "woman thing"........ lol. I do the same thing though Cali. I have made a catastrophic engine failure out of just forgetting to put gas in it or needing a valve adjustment. LOL.
