Default Wolverine air box question

I just picked up a 04 Wolverine and have not even pulled the airbox lid off yet. However, I did quite a bit of research on the bike before I bought it and have heard that it is difficult to determine whether the air filter is seated properly due to the design of the air box. If necessary I will buy an aftermarket box or lid to assure that I don't have a problem. Anyone worked this out on your bike?

Thanks

The best thing to do for the air filter is to put the aluminum Pro Design filter adapter so you can use a clamp on, also, I read an article in an atv mag a while back about Mickey Dunlap having an intake system for a clamp on filter also. That way, your filter is clamped on, and you can rest easy, and even run with the lid off for more power, if the trail isn't too wet or muddy.
