My 04 Raptor seems really slow, and I would like some input. I lost to a stock 04 Banshee, a 400ex, then I only beat the 400ex by a bike length. Just seems really restricted. I rode a z400, and it seemed like it had more power than my bike. I have about 12 hours on the bike, and have really ridden it pretty easy for the break-in period. Sure, I have been on the gas a few times[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img], but nothing really drastic.


I am really amazed that I lost to a 400ex. I am a pretty decent racer, and have been riding quads for awhile. Friend of mine has a Banshee and I let him ride my bike. He said it seems really stiff, almost like it revs to slow. The bike is really hard to start, and takes forever to warm up. The engine has a rattle goin on in it, and I can hear it really good when it is first ran. The rattle Sounds like a annoying dashboard rattle, but it is coming from the engine. Valves?? Please help guys, I bought this bike new, and I am really frustrated. I am gonna take it to the dealer, but I am looking for some input first. I don't like to go in blind, and I want to come out ahead.

Adjust your valves. They are probly very loose and you are losing power. Nice icon by the way.

 

Sounds real lean.

 

Take it back to the dealer and have them look at it.

 

What does the plug look like? I agree with sixsixt, sounds very lean.

 

Maybe the throttle limiter screw is screwed in???

You know when you buy something, and it doesn't work like it should, and you go into panic mode. That is where I am at.

 

definately take it back. let the dealer fix it. you should beat a 400ex with no problem. let us know what it was. good luck.

 

I took it back to the dealer today. Hope it doesn't cost me, times are tuff right now.
